Devotional - dreams

Paul talks about our human nature in Ephesians 4:21-24:
“When you heard about Christ and were taught in Him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus, you were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires, to be made new in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”

A very exciting part of this verse is that we are created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

When I realized that...
WOW!

To be like God in righteousness means to be adept at doing good and excellent at being good. And to be like God in holiness means to be of a totally different order, of a different category. (translated quote from a book I read)

And that's God's will: A life of a totally different order from the life you see around you. —Born to fly!

This hits me every single time.
This means I can do great things through God.
Things that mean a lot to the people around me.
Things that contribute to God's plan for this world and for me.

Living a life of a totally different order is not something you just do. It requires practice.
It requires a relationship with God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
I'm sure that when that's in place, you'll receive a bigger picture.
A dream.
And dreams go beyond our power and ability.
They provide you with a vision.
...give you purpose and meaning.
...can become actionable.
...will make you feel energized!
...will reveal what God has put on your heart.

What do you think? Isn't that exciting?!

xoxo,
Jane
