Devotional - Why is God silent about my business?

why is God silent about my business?

As for me, I call to God, and the Lord saves me. Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. — Psalm 55:16-17

Hi!

At the beginning of this year, I stood at a crosspoint:

Was I going to shut down the Born to Fly premium membership and change course?

I prayed for weeks but all I heard were crickets.

Doubts started to arise:
Was God hearing me?
Did He care about this?
Was He simply ignoring me?

It was frustrating, to say the least.

I spent hours in silence and walked away empty-handed.

How was I supposed to move on?

I didn’t until I found a glimmer of hope when I was browsing through my journal pages about God’s promises

God hears me.

The promise of Psalm 55:17 was right there.

So God wasn’t deaf to my prayers.
He actually collects them in golden bowls (Revelation 5:8).

Then why didn’t He answer?

He did.

Just not in the way I wanted.

God challenged me.

He challenged me into seeking Him and trying out a new practice that I was ready to explore: to go deeper with prayer life.

The new thing I did?
I wrote down my issue and captured all the thoughts, clues, nudges, and conversations I had about the matter over the next couple of weeks.
It turned out God spoke through his Word and other Christ-focused people.

I believe that God does answer—may it be with some delay.

God just doesn’t always answer in ways that you expect. He uses ways that will teach you the most, all in a loving manner.
God sees the whole picture, you only see part of it. The fogginess will disappear as you trust His answers will be exactly what you need, at the right time.

Blessings,
Jane

By the way, the podcast episode ‘Why is God silent about my business?’ goes deeper into this subject and is a great encouragement if you’re dealing with this.
