“In all your ways submit to him, and He will make your paths straight.” (NIV)
I can overthink things a lot. I can pray about minor things, doubt them, preventing me from moving forward. All the while I use the excuse that I’m seeking guidance from God.
Sometimes the answer never comes.
I think because God gave us a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7). The fact that I doubt my own capability to make a decision – too afraid to move on – basically says that I’m not trusting what God has put in me. Or trust God in general.
What is bent, He can make straight.
If I drift away, He knows how to bring me back.
He promised He is in control.
For God to provide, we actually have to take steps. I can’t just sit back and wait till He makes things happen (or for him to answer on a small decision I have to make). I have to do the works. Not just the thinking :).
So, work with all your heart, as working for the Lord (Col. 3:23). And give Him the glory. In all the little things we do.
If there are no steps, there’s no path to straighten.
So go and have faith.
