A Simple Way to Show Gratitude To Clients This Month — BtF’s Devotional
"Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." — 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Read time: 2 minutes
Hi Reader,
On my daughter’s birthday, 2 years prior to when she was born, I wrote about change. I think it’s a funny coincidence when I look back at it. Going from 1 child to 2 is indeed a change.
But at the time that I wrote it, I knew change would be a big theme for the rest of the year.
Our last months in Canada.
An international move that summer.
A period of mourning about what I had left behind.
With the fall days ahead of us, I always think about change because it’s so evidently present in nature.
Leaves turn color.
They fall off.
Warm days turn into cold.
My wardrobe from dresses to comfy sweaters.
Change can feel uneasy, but the change in nature has a certainty. It’s given. After a winter of absence, the leaves will return to the trees. I take it for granted, but it’s actually something special. Every year, without intervention, it just happens.
God can feel like that sometimes. It can become “normal,” He’s always there. Maybe I don’t always appreciate Him as I should, seeing His presence as a given. Which it is, but it has been massively paid for.
In this change of seasons, I want to be more thankful for the miracle that saved my life. That saved your life.
I want 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to be my verse for October:
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Thanksgiving Day takes place in October for Canadians, in November for Americans. Why don’t you join me in this extra awareness of thankfulness?
Being thankful for God being ever present, just like the sun. We may not always see it or miss the rays and the warmth, but the light reminds us it’s there.
What else can you be thankful for?
Despite the circumstances, which can be a challenge, for sure.
Can it be as small as a fresh breath of air?
Or the smell of pumpkin spice?
It can be big, like your life.
Your house.
Work.
Friends.
Clients. Even the difficult ones.
I have an idea.
Let’s use our thankfulness to bless others.
Pick 3 names and send them a little card or text, telling them what you appreciate about them. Ask God for the names.
It’ll be fun, I promise .
Blessings,
Jane
