Devotional - When you don’t see the fruits of your business

When you don't see the fruits of your business

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58

Hi there,

Have you ever thought: why am I doing this?
All the hours you spent working on your business, on that client, on your marketing…
And yet, somehow, it looks like it doesn’t pay off.

…Client work stalls.
…There are barely any new leads.
…Another drop in engagement.
Etcetera etcetera.

My first business, Zorro Branding, has made an everlasting footprint in my life. The journey I have been on with God thanks to this business is… humbling.
I’ve prayed many times for more clients but they didn’t show up.
I’ve prayed for my work to have more impact, and somehow it did or it didn’t.

The question is: If I don’t see the fruits of my business, what is the cause?
I’m I just too blinded to see the first seeds opening up?
Am I too impatient?
Am I expecting God to move mountains while I wait and pray?
Do I not do the work?
Or is there simply no fruit? And is my work in vain?

Dear reader, your work is never in vain. The Bible tells us so (1 Cor 15:58).

As long as we are doing our work for the Lord, there’s nothing to doubt, be ashamed of, or be discouraged about.

All work in God is worth it!
The problem often is that we set wrong expectations—perhaps whispered into us by the world.

God knows exactly HOW and WHEN He wants to use your work and when it should bear fruit.

The road to a successful, fruitful business is not just about working hard on your business. Part of it is.
But most of the hard work takes place within you; where God shapes your character.

This was not the answer I was looking for when I cried out to God “why isn’t Zorro Branding where I want it to be?!”
But God is mysterious and His thoughts aren’t always ours.

If you struggle with seeing the fruits of your business, definitely take it to God. He doesn’t shy away from questions and He will for sure help you on your journey.
With promises like your work won’t ever be in vain!

I pray this will be an encouragement.

Blessings,
Jane & Team Born to Fly
