Devotional - Make Every Minute Count

READ TIME: 2 minutes

"My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work."  — John 4:34

Dear readers,

As a solopreneur it can be challenging meeting the demands of life and business. We all receive 24 hours each day and how we manage those hours can either draw us closer to our goals or away from them.

We have no greater example than Jesus Himself when it comes to managing our time. What a joy that we can imitate Jesus and day by day aim to follow Him even in our businesses.

Here are 3 examples of how Jesus managed time.

1. He did the right things at the right time

The activities Jesus did, aligned with His purpose on this earth. It was to preach and advance the kingdom of God. This intentional focus on His purpose allowed Him to avoid distractions, do the right activities, and not be driven by the expectations of others (Mark: 1: 38).

2. He guarded His devotional life

Jesus often withdrew to solitary places in the early mornings for time with His Father (Mark 1:35). He didn’t allow the demands of the day to remove Him from the sacred place of prayer and meditation. In fact, when things got so busy, he went away to pray to stay on focus.

3. He saw the need for rest

Jesus would say to His disciples, “ Come with me by yourself to a quiet place and get some rest” ( Mark 6:31). Jesus didn’t want them to burn out but to have time for refreshing and rest to be their best when on the mission field.

What can we draw from these examples, reader?

As a solopreneur, focus on the right activities that will put you in a position to thrive and stay on purpose. This means being intentional with planning, prioritizing, and being productive.

Secondly, we must begin each day with God .
In fact, those are the times that will keep you grounded and focused.

Lastly, make rest part of your daily routine to be your very best.

May the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ fill you with all wisdom to live a life pleasing to him.

Amen.

Blessings,
