Devotional - The Nearness of god
Hi!
How often do you reflect on the nearness of God?
We are constantly reminded in the bible to practice daily prayer because God wants us to come to him and remember that He is always near.
We live in a world full of anxieties and worries and we can easily forget that God is in control and that He works all things for our good.
So here we are in Philippians 4: 5b -7.
We are told
What to avoid: Don't be anxious about anything. Anxiety weighs down the heart and mind and causes us to lose focus on what matters and lack the clarity to think.
What we are to do: Instead PRAY. It's a variety of prayers from petition to thanksgiving. Imagine every time an anxious thought comes in we train ourselves to pray instead of worrying.
The Promise: Here is the very precious promise of God. He brings peace and guards our hearts and minds. You see God knows what we need in those moments is His peace and He gives it freely when we come to Him in prayer. Peace knowing you are loved, cared for and God is in control of all our lives.
Today, whatever anxieties your business or personal life brings, bring them to your heavenly Father who knows and is very near to you.
Let's pray:
Thank you Father for your love and care for us. Bring us daily to your throne and give us your peace in Jesus Christ. Amen.
