Devotional - God, why?

Have you ever asked the question: God, why?
...I'm praying but I can't seem to get clarity
...I'm crying out to you but You're not answering
...I'm working so hard but my business doesn't seem to take off
...

It's not a shame to admit that we ask(ed) the why-question. We try to understand God more and more, but I think we can never fully comprehend who He really is. Let alone understand the mystery of the path He chose for us.

"A person's steps are directed by the LORD.
How then can anyone understand their own way?"
---Proverbs 20:24

What stood out for me in this verse this time is knowing that my way is not for me to understand.

Isn't that comforting?

My path in life cannot be predicted by me.
The result?
I have to let go.
Put God in control. He directs my steps anyway. He created and outlined a path for me.

All that's left for me is just to be amazed and praise Him about how He works and how certain situations -- that I didn't agree with at the time -- have shaped me.

What speaks to you in this verse?

Be blessed,
Jane
