Seeking direction? This might help

Read time: 2.5 minutes

Hi Reader,

I was in my monthly mastermind meeting. My two female, entrepreneurial friends, and I hopped online to have our one hour call. In it we discussed our wins of the month, our challenges, and jotted down our accountability items.

Everytime we meet, we have the opportunity to sit on the ‘hot seat’ and discuss a question/challenge/something that we’re facing.

I was hesitant to bring mine up.
It was about seeking direction and I, myself, had grown tired of repetitively discussing this subject. I didn’t want it to be a ‘thing’ anymore, but I couldn’t deny that it was bothering me.

I felt overwhelmed by all my tasks and a little bit of direction or clarification would be hugely helpful.

Despite my feelings, I decided to ditch the friction and share my case.

Little did I know how this would turn out.

First of all, not one of my friends was annoyed by my case.
Secondly, the ladies urged me to schedule a time for reflection that week and pray through a couple of questions for reflection.

I did.
It was so fruitful that I couldn’t wait to share it with you!
If you want some clarification or guidance or direction, take these questions and use them in your quiet time.

You will not be disappointed!

Questions for reflection:

  • Who am I?

  • What life phase am I in?

  • What are my desires and needs?

  • What is God asking from me?

Answering these questions in prayer resulted in knowing my priorities. I was having too much on my plate and with my pregnancy progressing, I needed clarification on what I could drop.

Knowing my identity;
knowing and embracing the phase—or season—I’m in;
and being clear on what I want and need, were powerful, informative indicators to bring into decision making.
They gave a rational overview of my current situation.
Ultimately, the last question brought it all together.

God has given us a sound mind to help us navigate decisions, but He has the final say. He confirms, affirms, or stirs up the pots.
In my case, he confirmed .

God isn’t always asking to change course or throw life around. I find He rarely does actually. He’s mostly asking for our hearts and for us to pour our hearts in the things we do. So we can do it with excellence, for His glory and Kingdom (1 Corinthians 10:31).

My reflection time with God, going through these questions, made it possible for me to do things with excellence again. After carefully examining what was on my list and scrapping things off, I found clarity and focus.

If that’s what you need as well, take from this newsletter what you need. I pray you will have the same uplifting and clarifying experience as I had.

Don’t hesitate to send this email to a friend who needs it!

Blessings,
Jane
